Colour Coatings are one of the most important aspects of the restoration process. The new finish that is replaced is subjected to heavy wear from abrasion, exposure to sunlight,cleaning and maintenance products and just plain general use. It is also extremely important to keep the appearance of the newly finished leather looking as it did originally. A "painted" appearance is completely undesirable and distasteful. Leather Magic!™ Colour Coats have been formulated to provide you with a new finish that is actually stronger and more durable than the original finish! These colour coats remain extremely soft, flexible and natural feeling so that the new finish resembles the original material when it was first purchased. Ease of use is another area of concern. Having the ability to reproduce an original finish in an uncomplicated and timely manner is important to both consumers and professional users. Leather Magic!™ Colour Coats have been formulated to provide the desired results with as little effort and time requirements as possible. Normal application methods are employed with no need of "primers" or "Top Coats". Safety and environmental concerns are of utmost importance. Leather Magic!™ Colour Coating System is completely water based and contain no harmful chemicals either to the user or the environment! These products have been safely used in medical environments, laboratories and homes with children and pets present. Leather Magic!™ Color Coat systems are heavily pigmented and will even enable you to change the color of your items! Damage caused by wear, dirt, fading and other surface problems may now be restored like new! These Water Based Colour Dyes will make your Leather and Vinyl upholstery look and feel like it did when it was new. Easy to apply, these colour coats produces permanent coloring that will not rub off onto clothing or anything that comes into contact with them, and will provide a new finish that will outlast the original! With thirteen basic colors available, you will be able to mix these colors together to obtain a perfect color match. We can also custom mix the color for you! Simply choose your color from our color charts, or you may provide us with a sample of your color, and we will match any color, including Factory Original Automotive interiors, Furniture Upholstery, Original Clothing Colors, and even specialty colors. We also offer a Technical Support “Hot Line" in the event that you have questions, problems or just need a bit of encouragement. To obtain custom matched colors, we need the following information: A sample of the material is the best method to obtain the proper color. This sample may usually be obtained from the underside of the frame. there is almost always excess material left by the manufacturer that has been wrapped around the frame of the seating area that a small (1"X 1") patch may be removed. We will gladly match the color of your kit to this sample. If this method is not possible, we may be able to match the color in our formula books if we are provided with the following information: Auto: Make, Model and year of Car, Name of Color, Interior Color Code. Furniture: Manufacturer Name, Style, Color Name and/or Code. In most cases, in order to obtain a perfect color match, it is most beneficial to send us a small sample swatch of the material that you wish to recolor. Color codes give us the formula that is specified by the manufacturer, but many times these colors vary a great deal because of dye lot differences, style of Vinyl, and many other factors. In some cases, a color formula is not available, and the only way that we have to match the color is by means of a sample swatch. A small piece ( 1" x 1") may usually be removed from the underside of the furniture without causing any problems. Suggestion: It may be easier to locate a "paint chip" from a local paint store. If we are provided with a sample of the color that you desire we will be able to match from just such a sample.
